Permits
Filming permits in Cyprus
Cyprus does not have one film permit. A beach, a road, a drone, and an ancient theatre are four different desks. CPS reads the schedule, names the authority, and files the paperwork against the dates you actually need.
Who usually signs
- Municipalities for streets, squares, and many beaches
- The Department of Antiquities for Kourion and other archaeological sites
- The police for road closures and picture vehicles
- The forestry department for Troodos and designated natural areas
- Civil aviation for drones
- Hermes Airports, with a long lead, for Larnaca or Paphos airside
Hotel grounds and private villas are contracts with the owner, not state permits. Drones over people, airports, and antiquities are often refused. We will say that on the scout rather than on the shoot day.
Permit fees are pass-through costs. They are quoted separately from crew and equipment.
